Whatever your reason, at LaBelle Perfume, we have a wide range of colognes in stock, and here, we are more than happy to walk you through them.
What is Cologne?
You may be curious as to how a cologne is different from an eau de toilette.
A cologne, or eau de cologne (EDC), is a fragrance concentration in a perfume or aroma.
- Usually has a two to five percent concentration of fragrance oils dissolved in alcohol and water.
- An EDC has a very light and fresh, often citrus- and herb-forward.
- An EDC usually has a short longevity of around two to three hours.
- It is a splash scent, and does not carry the aroma longevity of an eau de parfum.
An interesting historical note, the name of this aroma comes from the city of Cologne in Germany. Giovanni Maria Farina created the first EDC in 1709, which was heralded at the time for being bright, citrusy, and uplifting.
Colognes are still popular to this day, and, with our wide selection at LaBelle Perfumes, you may be wondering what the best masculine cologne is. Here are four of our favourites.

Imperiale 3.4 oz EDC for Men by Guerlain
This is one of our favourite historical scents, as it can date its origins all the way back to 1893, where it was crafted by Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain. It was so popular with gentlemen that it earned him the title of perfumer to Emperor Napoleon III.
Imperiale 3.4 EDC hits the wearer with a bright and bold burst of citrus, think of lemon and bergamot, which gives an immediate uplift and freshness. The heart (or middle) of the aroma is smooth, creamy lavender, which is a classic aromatic scent that enhances the scent with subtlety.
The base (or the bit that will last the longest) is a mixture of tonka bean and cedarwood, adding a warm and sweet after aroma, with a slight woody finish.
It is noted as being light, transparent, and refreshing, making it suitable for the gent who works in the city, or has a manual job.
- Scent Profile- zippy citrus notes, with a lavender back note
- Suitable for layering? Yes, suited for layering with woody musks or floral parfums for a longer-lasting impact.

Creed Aventus Cologne (3.4 oz EDP)
This installment in the House of Creed, Aventus stands out amongst the rest. Want to make an impression in the interview or on the date? Aventus goes the extra mile to ensure that happens.
Bring a sense of sophistication, luxury, and playfulness to any situation. Think mysterious, but approachable.
This specific fragrance is known to be perfect for the summer months with sandalwood and tonka bean being major in the scent profile. Wear on a nice date on vacation or on the golf course with friends or business partners, either way, you’ll be making an impression.
Scent Profile- musk, sandalwood, styrax, tonka bean
Suitable for Layering? Yes, this scent profile is perfect with other accents particularly citrusy fragrances since it leans toward a summer cologne.

Curve Forest Woods 4.2 oz Eau de Cologne for Men
One of our more modern colognes, perhaps suitable for the gent who has the aforementioned classics, Curve Forest Woods opens its scent profile with a vibrant hit of green aromas.
It has top notes of cardamom, Italian citruses, and green leaves, which evoke images of walking through a dense woodland after rain. It awakens the senses and, as it develops, the scent morphs into warmer aromas.
For the heart of the scent, think nutmeg, neroli, and geranium, which add an aromatic floral layer, without losing the initial woodland undertones. The base of the aroma is a mixture of cedarwood, patchouli, fir, and balsam, which adds a double-whammy of woody atmosphere to the scent and lends a rugged, cozy finish to the cologne.
- Scent Profile- woods, with earthy undertones and a spritz of nutmeg.
- Suitable for Layering? It is good for layering, but its aroma is distinctive, so it is best layered with citrus-based eau de parfums or colognes.

Tommy Bahama for Men (3.4 oz Eau de Cologne)
If you know a gent who wants a cologne that will transport him to someplace tropical, the Tommy Bahama for men EDC is the perfect option.
It opens with a fruity tone, with a vibrant hit of tangerine, watermelon, pear, and ginger, which offers a quick pick-me-up. As the fragrance evolves, the wearer is aware of the interesting mixture of violet lead, coriander, and tiare flower, which adds a bit more depth to the scent.
As the day goes on, this fruity green mix hits a warmer note, of amber, tonka bean, as well as an interesting hit of sandalwood, which leaves a creamy and woody after scent. It manages to strike the perfect balance between bright and fruity top notes, with a masculine base, which is tropical and beach-bound. So, this is a modest cologne with an unmistakable pop, which is perfect in warmer weather, or for when the gent wants to feel relaxed, without the scent of musk.
